To apply for accreditation as badminton coach in Singapore please fill in this [Application Form]

OBJECTIVES

This document serves to state clearly SBA’s proposed accreditation policies in relation to registration of badminton coaches.

COACHES WITH TECHNICAL CERTIFICATES ISSUED BY SBA & SSC / ATTENDED TECHNICAL COURSES ORGANISED BY SBA

For all those coaches who have been issued Technical Certificates (Level 1) during the period 1998 - 2002, a new Technical Certificate (Level 1) will be issued under the new Accreditation System.
For those who have attended the Technical courses (Level 2) and the IOC (Level 2 & Level 3) during the period 1996 ?2002, some may be issued the new Technical Certificates (Level 2) while the remaining would be issued the new Technical Certificates (Level 2) upon successful completion of the Bridging Course (Level 2). The general assessment is that by itself , none of the Technical courses (Level 2) or Technical courses (Level 3) would have met the higher requirements of the new Technical (Level 2). So for those who attended more than 1 Technical (Level 2) or a combination of Technical (Level 2) and Technical (Level 3) courses, they would have attained the requirements of the new Technical (Level 2) certification.
For all others with Technical Certificates issued by SBA & SSC outside the mentioned period, the applications will be considered on a case by case basis with the appropriate documentary evidence.

EX/CURRENT NATIONAL PLAYERS

All existing full-time national players shall be enrolled onto a course “Fast Track (Lvl 1)? built into their career planning. After successful completion of the course, they shall be minimally exempted from Level 1 Technical.

National players who have achieved a medal / top 4 in major tournaments (e.g. SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games and prominent International Tournaments may be granted exemption from Level 2 (Technical) upon successful completion of the course “Fast Track (Lvl )2.

For ex full-time national players or ex-national players with outstanding achievements and without the relevant coaching qualifications, the cases will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

FOREIGN COACHES

For ex full-time national players or ex-national players with outstanding achievements and without the relevant coaching qualifications, the cases will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

We will compare their course syllabus with those in our Accreditation System as well as their coaching experience and recommend to our respective Committee the equivalent level for them to be emplaced.
Those who meet our criteria successfully will be accredited accordingly.

EXISTING COACHES (IN SINGAPORE) WITHOUT NECESSARY COACHING QUALIFICATIONS /THOSE APPLYING FOR EMPLOYMENT PASSES

Existing coaches who are in Singapore, without the necessary coaching qualifications but with vast proven coaching experience, may be permitted to accredit for appropriate level of coaching qualification on a case by case basis. This includes National Coaches.
For those cases who are applying for the employment passes, an appropriate accreditation level will be established internally when SBA reviews the case. However, the person will still need to apply for formal accreditation by SBA upon approval of employment pass by Ministry of Manpower. Those who do not qualify for accreditation will not be recommended for employment pass. However, the authority for approving employment pass is Ministry of Manpower.
